She then formed girl trio 'Fuzion', performing at various open air venues, theatres and holiday parks. To further her experience, and most of all to gain some professional training, Ellen auditioned for theatre college, 'Phil Winstons Theatreworks' in Blackpool. After gaining a place on the musical theatre and dance course, Ellen attended the college for three years, in which time she progressed greatly as a performer. She sang at numerous theatres and events, and also recorded vocals for professional pantomime productions both in Manchester and Preston.
